Staff

All the activities of CASE for Refugees are overseen by a Principal Solicitor /Registered Migration Agent. A small team of part time staff including a Migration Agent and Office Administrator are supported by our dedicated volunteers. The CASE for Refugees office is open five and a half days a week.

Amanda Goodier and Shayla Strapps

Principal Solicitors

Amanda and Shayla job-share the role of Principal Solicitor and have worked at CASE since November 2007. They come to CASE having both previously worked in private firms and also in other Community Law Centres. They are also both Registered Migration Agents.

Gywnneth Ife

Registered Migration Agent

Gwynneth has worked at CASE since 2004 as a volutneer giving many many hours to the centre. In 2008 she joined the paid staff as a Migration Agent. Her tireless contribution is a strength for CASE.

Marti Rinsma

Registered Migration Agent and solicitor

Marti has recently joined CASE as a Registered Migration Agent. She brings a wide experience in other areas of law gained in Community Legal Centres.

Bill Thomas

Registered Migration Agent  

Bill has worked at CASE since 2003 as a Registered Migration Agent. He has extensive experience in all areas of Refugee law and has particular expertise at RRT and MRT tribunals.  

Julie Jacob

Reception

Julie will talk your initial query or phone call and ensure clients' concerns are referred to the appropriate staff person. She has recently joined the organisation coming to Perth after working in a Migration Agency in Dubai for a number of years.

Caro Nye

Administration Manager

Caro has returned to CASE after a 3 year break. With a background in international development, and experience as a refugee settlement case-worker, Caro now rejoins the CASE team to provide administrative support to the managers. 

Jessica McGowan

Legal team

Jessica has taken up a newly created position at CASE adding her many skills to the legal staff. She is working with Emma to provide legal assistance to CaLD clients.

Emma Ashcroft

Solicitor and Community Legal Education Officer

Emma runs CASE's general law service for the CaLD community, providing free legal advice, representation and advocacy. Emma also runs CASE's community legal education program delivering community legal education to CaLD communities in the form of workshops and information sessions to raise community awareness of legal rights and responsibilities. This role also sees Emma involved in law reform relating to legal issues facing CaLD communities in WA.
